Our Objects
The objects of the Co-op Grocers are to:
reduce prices and other costs for members through aggregated purchasing
share members’ knowledge and resources
advocate for sustainable grocery co-operatives and locally, ethically and sustainably produced food and other products with minimal packaging
support and grow the sustainable grocery co-operative sector through marketing, product research, networking and co-operative development and education
Our History
Co-op Grocers formed in late 2020 as an outcome of many conversations between leaders of food co-operatives facilitated by the Co-op Federation.
Given the considerable cross-over in products and shared values, combined with the Co-operative principle of Co-operation among co-operatives – it was a no-brainer that the Co-op Grocers could provide a vehicle to deliver shared value to co-operatives, their members and the wider community.
